One nation one ration card: Now the migrant labor can easily purchase their subsidized ration from the FPS anywhere in the country. On Thursday, May 14th the finance minister of India has announced the portable ration card scheme ‘One nation one ration card‘, under this, every citizen of the nation may use their ration card across the state for subsidized ration and they do not need to generate new ration card or any other process. Through this scheme, around 67 crore beneficiaries or 83% of PDS beneficiaries in around 23 states will be benefited by March 2020, and the government assured that by the end of May 2021 all states will be covered under this scheme.

Currently, the ration cardholder can buy their subsidized ration form an FPS which has been assigned to them in their locality where they live but after implementing this ‘one nation one ration card’ scheme beneficiary can avail this facility across the states.

The ONORC scheme has been launched after keeping in mind about the internal migration because in our nation we have seen lots of people keep moving to the metro or other cities for better job opportunities and as per the data recorded in the census 2011 is that around 4.1 crore people are from inter-state migrants and 1.4 crore people are migrated from inter and intrastate for better employment and standard of living.

भारत सरकार द्वारा अगस्त माह से भारत के 23 राज्यों में एक देश एक राशन कार्ड योजना लागू करने का फैसला किया है और इसकी जानकारी भारत की आर्थिक सलाहकार निर्मला सीतारमण ने गुरुवार को एक बैठक के दौरान दी। एक देश एक राशन कार्ड योजना से अब भारत देश को नागरिक कही भी किसी भी शहर मै रहकर सरकारी राशन का लाभ ले सकता है और इसके लिए उसे अपना राशन कार्ड भी ट्रांसफर करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है.
अभी यह योजना कुल १७ राज्यों मै लागू है और सरकार द्वारा इसे April 2021 तक 33 राज्यों मै लागु करने का लक्ष्य रखा है जिससे देश के ६७ करोड़ उपभोक्ताओं को लाभ मिलेगा और अगले साल मार्च २०२१ तक इस योजना को पूरे देश मै लागू करके देश के १००% राशन कार्ड धारक इसका लाभ ले सकेंगे
एक देश एक राशन कार्ड योजना लागू करने का मकसद क्या है?
इस योजना को लागू करने का सबसे बड़ा कारण हाल के दिनों मई उत्पन्न हुई समस्या को देखते हुए लिया गया है जैसा की आप जानते है की कोरोना वायरस की वजह देश के गरीब तबके के लोग जो अपने राज्यों से बहार दूसरे राज्यों मै काम करते थे उनको इस दौरान राशन की सबसे ज्यादा समस्या का सामना करना पड़ा इस योजना के लागू हो जाने के पश्चात देश का कोई भी व्यक्ति जिसके पास राशन कार्ड है वह किसी भी राशन की दूकान से अब राशन ले सकता है.
मार्च 2021 तक इस योजना के तहत सभी राशन कार्ड धारक इसका लाभ ले सकेंगे

How will the one nation one ration card scheme work?
Below we have given an example through which you will clearly understand the meaning of one nation one ration card.
For example, Raj Kumar who is the permanent resident of Bihar but he migrates to Delhi for work and now he starts living in Delhi and as he is living in Delhi he is not able to use their ration card because it belongs to the Bihar state FPS shop and he cannot make new ration card in Delhi because he already has one in Bihar but now after implementing this ‘One nation on ration card’ scheme Raj Kumar can buy their subsidized ration in Delhi from any FPS shop on behalf of ration card which he generates in Bihar.
And the whole process will be done through the Electronic point of sale device which will be installed in the FPS shop so that the data collected will be sent in the PDS system and this system will enable such person to buy the food grain which they entitle for under NFSA.

Initially, when the scheme was launched as a pilot project, it was launched between the Telangana & Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra & Gujarat states and till now 20 states are being participated under the scheme and 3 more states will join the scheme at the end of August as reported. Performance of ONORC scheme since launched
As the scheme launched in the pilot mode initially and now the government is trying to implement this scheme to all states but the last data recorded under the IMPDS system that only 275 transactions have been done through the process but the number of the transaction is high in the intrastate ration card portability.
The benefit of ‘One nation one ration card’
- The main benefit of the scheme is that the beneficiary can purchase their subsidized ration from any fair price shops whether it was within or outside the state.
- The ration provided to the beneficiary under the scheme is according to the central government scheme, not to their state schemes.
- Under the NFSA all beneficiaries will be entitled to Rs 3/kg rice and Rs 2/kg wheat per person.
- The sale of the ration will be done by the electronic point of sale so that the data could be maintained easily and all the data collected will be available on the IMPDS system.
- If any of the beneficiaries are not happy with the ration dealer then they can switch their FPS dealer.
- But you can avail this benefit only when your ration card is linked to your Aadhaar card so it is a must for all beneficiaries that they must link their ration card to Aadhaar card.
