Mparivahan App: Towards digitalization of India initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi , mParivahan was introduced and fulfilled under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). A government application was developed by the National Informatics Centre(NIC) .
Developing the mParivahan app by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had perceived a vision of providing efficient services at an easy level and also to improve the system of RTOs working. MoRTH has in fact made services easier and efficient by mobile-based application of Mparivahan.
The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Shri Nitin Gadkari initiated mobile apps of mparivahan and e-challan on the 17th meeting held, of National Road Security Council New Delhi on 10th January 2017.

What is m-Parivahan ?
m-Parivahan is an electronic platform where you can easily acquire information about your vehicle or vehicles. It’s structured in such a way that it may efficiently perform All-India RTOs vehicle registration search.

mParivahan under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is trying to stimulate digitally programmed RTOs all over the country. RTO issued documents are needed for speculative verification and various permission which are valid across India such as Registration Certificate (R.C.) & Driving License (D.L.).
mParivahan database is connected to the State Register and National Register, so if your documents are not accepted on the app then they are considered invalid.

Procedure to Download mParivahan App

mParivahan Sewa App for Android Users
- User should go to your mobile phone’s “Google play store”.
- After opening the play store, go to the search bar and search “mParivahan”.
- You will see the list open so select mparivahan and click on the “Install” option.
- It may take a while, app is in the installation process.
- On completion of the installation process, user can either open from the play store or from the mobile screen where the app is now installed.
mParivahan App for Apple iOS Users
The process is same as the process of android user , with few changes.
- Firstly go to apple store app on your phone.
- After opening it in the search bar search mParivahan app
- Selecting on mParivahan app , click on install option.
- The process of installing may take a while.
- On completion of installation , click on open option it will leads to open.

RC Information
RC (Registered Certificate) is one of the most important document of your vehicle which states if your vehicle is registered under the Indian government or not. RC also states in which region is a vehicle is applicable to be used, information about the Engine of the vehicle, the Chassis number is also known as VIN(Vehicle Identification Number), Type of fuel used by the vehicle, cubic capacity(CC) and the category at which the vehicle lies.
DL Information
Driving License(DL) is not only your Identification proof but also a permit to drive. Driving License contains information about the name of the office from where your DL is issued as for inquiry purpose, it have a passport size photo installation so as to know whose DL is it, it have VIN /Chassis number, it has a rubber stamp and signature of the officer who issued your driving license.
Search DL with DOB
- Select the option “Search DL with DOB” from main menu.
- Enter DOB to get detail of your DL.
Search with Challan
If you got challan than you can check your challan through this option.
- you just need the RC number of the vehicle or DL number to see the required information of the challan.
Pay Tax Option
Options available in this category are- To pay tax, checking transaction and reprint list .For this user needs to have a vehicle number with proper validity.
Pay Tax basically means Road Checking Pending Services, which can be performed in three sets :
-Pay Tax

-Reprint Receipt
Pay Tax
- Click on the option , enter your vehicle number to check.
- After providing the vehicle number , details will be available to you
Proceed with the tax paying as processed.
Checking pending Transaction
- Click on Checking pending option , enter the vehicle number.
- Now you will get the information regarding your vehicle.
- Check through and pay the pending tax.
- You can pay tax even online.
Reprint Receipt
- To reprint the list click on , Reprint Receipt Option . Enter the vehicle number to get details
- Now get the receipt.
Emergency Services
This facility is to ensure the safety of the citizen ensured as the owner of any vehicle. For the emergency purpose, this provides an emergency number so as to get help at the required time of need. This also allows an individual to create a contact list in case of emergency as your emergency profile.
*Steps to create an Emergency profile:
- Firstly go to the app and open it.
- Then click on the menu bar (On the top left here three cardinal lines appears ) and select option emergency services.
- After filling in the relevant information, Save it.
- After that another dialogue box will appear regarding contact information in case of emergency
- Please fill and save the details accordingly.

This facility contains some miscellaneous information on different topics.
DL Mock Test: in this option, on clicking user is directly led to the question-answer link to proceed by giving text.
Nearest Pollution Checking Center: on clicking this option it leads you into google maps where it will show the nearest centres according to the location of the user.
Nearest RTO: on clicking this option, it takes you to google map and shows the nearest RTOs according to location.
Salient Features: This option will directly take you to the youtube link for getting the required information.

Notification
This part is divided into two segments.
1- General Notification
2-Ministry notification
It provides basic time notification in all aspect related to transport. It appears on the top right of the dashboard.
Language Selection
This option appears on the top left of the dashboard where you can select the language required. Currently, there are three languages which appear English, Hindi and Marathi.
- To change language , select language icon from top right in dashboard
- Now choose the language you prefer.
Emergency Service, Location
This appears on the top right of the dashboard. It asks for permission to automatically detect your location for emergency purposes. If you want automatic detect of your location then click on ALLOW option.
How to Sign In mParivahan App?
In order to sign in on the mParivahan app user needs only Name and Mobile phone number. Steps to Sign In
- Go to the main menu option on top left and click on “Sign In”
- Then a dialogue box of “Sign Up” will appear where user needs to provide Name and Mobile Number.
- An OTP must have generated on your number provided here. In the OTP dialogue box write the OTP.
How to search for details using RC?
To check details through RC number
- On the dashboard screen there below main menu is an Option as “RC” , click on it.
- On the right side of “RC” option a search bar is present where you have to enter RC number.
- After entering RC number , click on search. Hence , search details will be on your screen .
How to search for details using DL ?
- On the dashboard screen there below main menu is an Option as “DL” , click on it.
- On the right side of “RC” option a search bar is present where you have to enter RC number.

How to Create Virtual Registration(RC) in mParivahan?
To have a virtual registration lets follow the steps down below to the end.
- Open mParivahan app on your mobile.
- If you have already signed in then continue with the steps, else first you have to sign in.
- Either by going on the main menu and selecting MY RC from the drop-down menu list or from the dashboard on the left bottom “Create Virtual RC” option is available. Click on the option.
- Now provide your RC number and all the details will appear on your screen.
- Now scroll down on the page and click on “View Challan “.
- Now click on “Add to Dashboard for Virtual RC”.
- After adding, the user has to verify by providing details like Chassis Number (VIN) and Engine number.
- With RC’s verification, a pop-up message will appear “Go to dashboard and check your RC details “.
- Virtual RC has been created which will be displayed on the dashboard.
- One has to click on Virtual RC details and with a QR scan details will open.
- The user needs this QR code for direct inspection of details when required, so the user can download it for the download option.
- Use this QR whenever required.
How to create Virtual License on mParivahan?
To get a virtual registration, lets follow the steps down below to the end.
- Open mParivahan app on your mobile.
- If you have already signed in then continue with the steps, else first you have to sign in.
- Either by going on the main menu and selecting MY DL from the drop-down menu list or from the dashboard on the left bottom “Create Virtual DL” option is available. Click on the option.
- Now provide your DL number
- All the details shall appear on your screen.
- Now scroll down on the page and click on “View Challan “.
- Now click on “Add to Dashboard for Virtual DL”.
- Next step is verification, -the user should provide the Date Of Birth, and click on the “verify” option.
- Virtual DL has been created which can be checked on the dashboard.
- In the dashboard click on view details and your details will appear on the dashboard.
- Virtual RC has been created which will be displayed on the dashboard.
- One has to click on Virtual DL details and with a QR scan details will open.
- The user needs this QR code for direct inspection of details when required, so the user can download it for the download option.
- Use this QR whenever required.
