Under the scheme, the authority will provide the solar pump set to the beneficiaries. Generally, the farmers have to use the electric motor which extract the water from the reservoir or canals and then pump into the farms. However, in the case of the solar pump set the equipment will not require electricity to pump the water in the farms. The solar panel will be charged from the rays of the sun and the energy will be stored in the batteries. Once the batteries are charged the machine can used to pump the water into the farms.

The authority has planned to distribute around 310 pumps at the first phase of the scheme. The pumps will not only supply water to the farms but also provide excess electricity to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). The excess electricity produced by the solar panel will be delivered to the electricity for the department shall be paying to the farm owner who has installed the solar panel on their farms.

• The pumping energy of the solar pump is some what less than electric/fuel pump. However, the pumping output can be set manually.
• Apart from self consumption, the applicant can earn 50,000 per annum by installing the 10kwh solar pump plant on their farms.

Step 2- The homepage of the official portal will appear on the screen. Tap on the application form link for the “Online Application for Off Grid Solar Water Pumping System under PM-KUSUM, Component B.

Step 3- The application form for the solar pumping system will appear on the screen.

Step 4- In the application form the information entered by the applicant must be valid. The applicant has to provide the details of their Name and Contact, Residential address, Details of Land, Payment Details, Category Certificate Number, Ration card details etc.

Step 5- After you have filled all the details asked in the application form. Tap on the submit button to register for the scheme.
