ePass Karnataka Scholarship 2021: ePASS Karnataka 2021 ePASS also known as KARePASS is a digital platform altered electronically in aspects of payment and form filling making it well fetched and easy for all the students. Scholarships presented by this department are actually for students who are highly aspired and studious but lacked economically. Therefore it is assimilated for the Welfare of Backward Class student of the state by the Government of Karnataka. ePASS Karnataka Scholarship was shut down due to covid-19, a large mass of students would have appeared for the exam, therefore application process of ePASS Scholarship was ceased to operate in 2020.

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship basically wants to provide financial assistance to the students who are underprivileged through introducing various scholarship schemes. The backward students are soul of the Nation and States so they should be catered well through under this initiative.

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship was launched by the authorities on 1st October 2013 under the inspection of then honorable CM of Karnataka. The primary aim was to let the underprivileged students gain status on the basis of their academics.

What is ePASS?
ePASS is an electronic payment and application system of scholarship for better procedure outcome and for systematic & apt distribution of scholarships to students directly to their accounts. ePASS list out numerous scholarships schemes which in turn are known as ePASS scholarship.

ePASS Karanataka Scholarship is a broad spectrum under which various number of scholarship schemes takes effect , among them three most common are:

  • Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) Scheme
  • Fee Concession (FC) Scheme and
  • Food and Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS).
    So far each scholarship has there own guidelines to follow.

    The approach for this year scholarship process has been varied due to pandemic and thus many scholarships were postponed.

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship: Categories and Reservation Applicable

There is a vivid range of social group but for Scholarship, OBC is categorized more in accordance with the reservation offered.

  • Other Backward Class(OBC) category is divided into many subgroups according to there grading and so is the reservation allotted to them which are as follows:
  1. OBC
    Category 1 of OBC is classified as Most backward, reservation allotted is about 4%, groups included in this class are: Uppara, Golla and several other Nomadic communities.

    Category 2A of OBC is classified as More backward, reservation allotted is about 15%, groups included in this class are: Kuruba, Idiga and 100 other commodities included like Buddhist.

    Category 2B of OBC is graded the same as 2A “More backward”, reservation allotted is about 4%, groups included in this class are: Muslims

    Category 3A of OBC is graded as Backward, reservation allotted is about 4%, groups included in this class are: 12 Communities including reddy etc

    Category 3B of OBC is graded as Backward, reservation allotted is about 5%, Groups included in this class are: Lingayat, Veera Shaiva, 42 sub-cases like Jains and Christians.
  2. Other than these categories Scheduled Caste(SC) are allotted with 15% reservation.
  3. Also, Scheduled Tribes (ST) are allotted with 3% reservation in Karnataka.

ePASS Karnataka Vidyasiri (FAAS) Scholarship Karnataka 2021

The Vidhyasiri Scholarship is provided by the official in the following format :

ePASS Karnataka Scholarships: Eligibility Criteria

Though the qualification sub-standards may vary from scholarship to scholarship programs as every scholarship comes with its own set of rules and condition required to be fulfilled by students. Yet there is one condition or criteria that needs to be fulfilled by each student is to belong to the concerned state or must have domicile of the particular state to be eligible for the scholarship program.

Eligibility for ePASS Vidhyasiri Scholarship

  • The one condition to be filled in every form is that the student should be a citizen of Karnataka state.
  • Students must link their Aadhar Card to their bank account (COMPULSORY).
  • The student should belong to one of the categories of the backward classes.
  • The student should be studying post-matric from any of the institutions whether it government institution, government-aided institution or private institution.
  • The students who are studying in post-matric and has no proper place to live can also register for Food and Accommodation Scholarship.
  • The annual income of the students family should not exceed the limit given by the authority:
    (1) For category 1 student the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2.50 Lakh.
    (2)For Category 2A,2A, and 3B the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 1 lakh.
  • The student’s house and institute where he/she is studying should be at least 5 km away or the house should be in rural areas. Also, the students who are living in one city and going to study in another city are also eligible.
  • Both the new students and the renewal must score the following market stated in the table below in their annual examination :

  • If in any case of the medical predicament the student was not able to sit for the exam then the medical certificate is to be provided which must be certified by the Medical Board.
  • If a student has attended equivalent courses more than once are not qualified to sit for this scholarship.
  • The students who are studying post-graduation but are practicing medicine are not entitled to appear for this scholarship.
  • Students of all sectors as post-matric, undergraduates, postgraduates, diploma holders are eligible under one exception, Students who might have changed their course more than once are not accepted.
  • From a Single, only two students are allowed to apply, though this rule isn’t applied for girls.
  • Students total class attendance should at least be 75%.
  • The students who are able to satisfy all the above condition should apply for the form by online conduct.
  • Students who fulfil the conditions are eligible for PMS, FC, FAAS with a bit of their exception of income which is as follows:

Family Income Criteria-

  • Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) Scheme
    The yearly income of family members should be about 2.50 Lakhs for category 1 students and 1 lakhs for Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B students.
  • Fee Concession (FC) Scheme
    The annual income in totality should be about 1.50 lakh for the students belonging to category 1 and 1 lakh for the students belonging to category 2A, 3A, 3B
  • Food and Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS)
    The annual income in totality should not be more than 2.5 lakh for the students belonging to category 1 and more than 5 lakh for the students belonging to category 2A, , 3A, 3B.

Prathiba Purashkar Scholarship

  • The student should be a resident of Karnataka.
  • Student caste should belong among backward classes.
  • The student should be studying in post-matric in any government concerned or government-assisted colleges.
  • This is provided only once in respect to equivalent courses.
  • The annual income in totality should be about 2.5 lakh for the students belonging to category 1 and 1 lakh for the students belonging to category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B
  • If the above conditions are fulfilled then are eligible to apply.

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship: Selection Process

  • Students need to apply through the online procedure.
  • The online application form will contain basic information, documents required and bank account, also the hard copy of documents needs to be submitted to concerned colleges.
  • The inspection of all the documents will be done by the concerned college’s Principals and Inspection Officers. The application will be reviewed and then will be confirmed online.
  • All the documents hard copy needs to be submitted to the Taluk Backward Class Welfare Officers for a thorough inspection, which after his verification will be confirmed online.
  • District Backward Class Welfare Officer will also check all the information accordingly and give his confirmation.
  • The attendance required from a student is 75% which is also to be confirmed and verified by both The principal of the concerned college and by the Taluk Backward Class Welfare Officer.
  • Admission of the student is to be confirmed by the Principal of the concerned college and Taluk Backward Class Welfare Officer.

How to apply for ePASS Scholarship?

  • Firstly students need to go on the ePASS Scholarship official website which is State official portal.
  • After opening the website go to the “Students service” Option.
  • In the student service option, click on Create Account and select the link of notification of scholarship you wants to apply for.
  • Select the scholarship scheme you need from drop down menu .
  • Select the caste category from drop down menu , instill your aadhar details.
    (Note) Its important for the student to provide aadhar card detail of parents else student would not be permitted to get scholarship.
  • After clicking the form to fill appear now proceed by filling in basic details and attaching the documents required and adding bank details.
  • Double-checking all the details, submit the application form.
    (Note) student are allowed to change details through there login id till the last date of application submission.
  • All the students are required to take the hard copy of the application form and documents attached to the Concerned college’s authority and Taluk Backward Class Welfare Officer.
  • After submission of the form, a registration number will be created which is to be kept secure.
